Job summary

Bolton Clarke’s Heritage Lodge in Murwillumbah seeks a frontline kitchen and dining assistant to support residents with meals, nutrition and person-centred care. You will assist in meal preparation, serving and setting dining areas, while respecting individual preferences and dietary needs, and fostering social engagement during mealtimes.

Experience in hospitality or kitchen work is valued. You will work within Bolton Clarke Food Standards and follow the Food Safety Plan.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• A compassionate and caring attitude.
• Previous restaurant and/or commercial kitchen experience (highly regarded).
• Willingness to take direction from others.
• Reliability and shift flexibility.
• Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Valid working rights in Australia (Passport, Birth Certificate etc).
• Complete a police check and/or a NDIS Worker Check prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals.
• Provide care and support aligned with residents' daily routines with a focus on nutrition.
• Support meal choices and individual nutrition including allergies and intolerances.
• Enhance the overall dining experience and assist residents with meal selection and timing preferences.
• Prepare and set up dining areas to meet individual needs and preferences.
• Engage with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes.
• Promote resident choice and dignity while maintaining dining areas and accurate nutrition information.
• Assist with quality food preparation in line with the Food Safety Plan and Bolton Clarke standards.
• Maintain kitchen stock supplies as required.

Heritage Lodge, a 103 bed residential aged care facility located in Murwillumbah in the Tweed Shire, 13km south of the Queensland border. Surrounded by homely comforts and beautiful gardens, we enjoy a close-knit community that feels more like a family.

The Role:

This role plays a pivotal frontline role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a life of fulfilment through the delivery of person-centred care and support according to needs and preferences of each resident in everyday practice. Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals.

Your responsibilities will be to provide care and support aligned with residents' preferred daily routines with a strong focus on:

• Meal choices and individual nutrition
• Consideration of allergies and food intolerances
• Enhancing the overall dining experience
• Assist residents with meal selection and meal timing preferences
• Prepare and set up dining areas to meet individual needs and preferences
• Actively engage with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes
• Use empathy and kindness to foster a positive dining experience
• Promote resident choice and control to uphold dignity and respect
• Prepare and maintain dining experience areas and provide meal service to meet individual resident choicesMaintain accurate nutrition and diet information as required
• Assist with quality food preparation in accordance with the Food Safety Plan, Bolton Clarke Food Standards and Dining Framework
• Assist with maintaining kitchen stock supplies as required

To be successful, you will have:
