Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) Penrith is seeking a Casual Care Service Employee to support residents with personal care, meal assistance and meaningful engagement. You’ll work under supervision with registered staff, following care plans, and contribute to a warm, respectful home atmosphere.

The role requires Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support, at least 2 years in a similar setting, and flexible AM/PM/night shifts.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support required.
• Experience in aged care role (2+ years) preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care (e.g., showering).
• Support residents with meals and nutrition.
• Contribute to care planning with registered staff.
• Document care and services provided.
• Engage residents in meaningful activities.

• Assisting residents with personal care including showering
• Supporting residents with meals
• Contributing to care planning with registered staff

Requirements

• Minimum requirements - Certificate III in Aged Care / Individual Support
• Experience in similar role in aged care (Minimum 2 years)
• A genuine enthusiasm, care and compassion in your commitment to working with elderly people
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Respect for all people, regardless of background, age, gender, religion and ethnicity
• Flexible to do AM/PM and night shifts
• Must have full working rights
