Job description

Position Overview

The Capability and Skills Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring that operational staff are equipped with the necessary training and support to excel in their roles. This position involves reviewing and updating the Plant and Equipment and High‑Risk Skills Competency training matrix, aligning with organisational needs, and integrating training requirements into the LMS.

Responsibilities
  • Drive competency‑based training and assessment to enhance operational staff performance.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to align training programs with organisational needs.
  • Utilise Learning Management Systems (LMS) for efficient training documentation and management.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and customer‑centric service delivery.
Candidate Profile

We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented individual who is passionate about learning and development. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
  • Experience in learning needs analysis, particularly within infrastructure or safety‑regulated environments.
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and data management.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, capable of engaging both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in project management and process improvement.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team.
Salary and Working Hours
  • Package: From $93,854 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation. Salary will be determined based on skills and experience.
  • Hours of work: Temporary full‑time role up to January 2027. Option of a 19‑day month through Council’s flex system.
