Job summary

Hunter Trade College is seeking a reliable facilities officer to maintain our buildings, grounds and learning spaces. You will help keep environments clean, safe and well-presented for teaching and practical training, Monday to Friday, 7.00 am to 3.36 pm.

Key duties include cleaning, gardening, basic maintenance, moving furniture, coordinating with contractors, and conducting routine checks. The role offers 48 weeks per year, four weeks annual leave, and a 12.44% employer superannuation

Qualifications

Experience in a similar property maintenance, grounds, or handyperson role.
Current Working With Children Check (Employment).
Current Class C Driver's Licence.
Hold or willing to undertake a National Police Character Check.

Responsibilities

General property and grounds cleanliness tasks including cleaning, gardening, weeding, mowing, edging, waste management.
Basic maintenance tasks such as painting, maintaining halls and walls, doors, windows, and outdoor spaces.
Moving furniture and setting up rooms for classes and events.
Coordinating with external contractors and suppliers.
Conducting routine and preventative maintenance checks.
Supporting staff with ad hoc facilities-related tasks that keep the College running smoothly.
