Job summary

UQ Residences on the Gatton Campus is seeking a hands-on Facilities Manager to support operational control and ensure a safe, well-maintained living environment for residents and staff.

You will lead maintenance programs, oversee service contracts and external contractors, and coordinate site audits, risk assessments, and health and safety standards while fostering a service-oriented culture across the team.

Qualifications

• Experience in site operations in a customer service-based business.
• Technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
• Experience in implementation and ongoing management of asset management tools.
• Ability to undertake multiple varied tasks with minimal supervision.
• Proven experience in leading a team, providing best in class customer service.
• Excellent communication, presentation, organisation skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance programs, including preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules and site audits.
• Manage service contracts and supervision of contractors.
• Plan installations and refurbishments.
• Review building risk assessments and action plans; ensure health and safety standards.
• Liaise with residents in line with Residential Tenancies Authority requirements.
