Job summary

The University of Sydney Union (USU) is seeking a Venue Manager for Courtyard Café & Bar in Sydney CBD to lead front-of-house operations, manage a large team and drive day-to-day service. This hands-on role focuses on delivering great experiences while upholding standards across a bustling venue.

You’ll coach staff, manage rostering, labour and stock, and work with kitchen and events teams to optimise the customer journey and drive venue performance.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ venue management experience in a busy café, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
• Strong people leadership and customer service skills.
• Experience with rostering, labour, stock and inventory management.
• Current RSA and Food Safety Certificate.
• Good understanding of HACCP or food safety requirements.
• Organised, proactive and calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of Courtyard Café & Bar operations.
• Lead a large team and coach staff.
• Oversee rostering, labour, stock and costs.
• Collaborate with kitchen and operations teams across coffee, food, bar, catering and events.
• Enhance customer experience and grow the business.
