Job summary

UniSQ Toowoomba campus is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer (Buildings) to join the Facilities Management team. You’ll perform day-to-day building and facilities maintenance, from minor repairs to preventative tasks, keeping spaces safe and functional.

Based at Toowoomba campus and supporting Ravensbourne and Mt Kent, the role is a fixed-term, full-time appointment (36 hours/week) until 2 April 2027, with a total remuneration range of 89,952 to 95,555 per year.

Qualifications

• Post-trades certificate or advanced certificate with extensive relevant experience.
• Experience in maintenance, facilities or operational support.
• Ability to use a work order management system and maintain records (risk, safety, compliance).
• Sound understanding of WHS principles and safe work practices.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Willingness to travel to UniSQ locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building and facilities maintenance, minor repairs, and general handyperson tasks.
• Undertake operational maintenance activities including drain clearing, gutter maintenance, and meter readings.
• Conduct regular inspections and document maintenance needs.
• Log, action and close work requests in the facilities management system.
• Respond promptly to urgent maintenance to minimise disruption.
• Support planned and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate with contractors for specialised repair works.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and safety compliance.
