Optimising Abilities Pty Ltd is seeking a Support Worker to provide capacity building and in-home care for two tenants in a SIL setting near Arundel. The role emphasizes trust-building, routine support, and maintaining a calm, structured home environment.

This position focuses on non-physical support while promoting independence, engagement, and meaningful participation in daily activities, budgeting, and community access.

Qualifications

• NDIS Worker Screening Card required.
• First Aid Certificate required.
• CPR Certificate required.
• National Police Check required or willingness to obtain before commencement.

Responsibilities

• Support one participant with daily health management and morning transport routines using a collaborative approach to empower independence.
• Help participants build confidence in budgeting and community access.
• Support a second participant with expressive communication challenges in meal prep.
• Assist with front-yard gardening goals.
• Advocate to ensure participants are understood and included.
• Maintain the physical space with daily cleaning schedules.
• Document daily household dynamics via the digital reporting system.
• Remain calm, unbothered, and professional amidst shifting household dynamics.
• Identify reasons behind refusals and pivot to engage participants in new ways.
