Job description

Support Worker: Capacity Building & Home Care

You will be supporting two individuals who share a home but have vastly different daily lives, routines, and goals. You will act as the grounding presence in the home—a calm, neutral anchor who maintains harmony and structure. This is a highly rewarding home care position supporting two incredible individuals with low physical support needs. Because physical demands are low, this role focuses on the profound work of building trust, facilitating daily routines, and ensuring the environment remains a calm, predictable sanctuary for both tenants.

Key responsibilities

  • Support one participant with their ongoing daily health management and morning transport routines using a choice-based, collaborative approach to empower their independence
  • Help participants build confidence in budgeting and community access
  • Support a second participant who experiences expressive communication challenges in their dedicated kitchenette for meal prep
  • Assist with front-yard gardening goals
  • Act as a gentle advocate to ensure participants are always understood and included
  • Take ownership of the physical space through daily cleaning schedules
  • Objectively document daily household dynamics via the digital reporting system
  • Remain entirely unbothered, calm, and professional in the face of shifting household dynamics
  • Look for the why behind a refusal and pivot, adapt, and find a new way to gently engage participants

About you

  • Must hold an active NDIS Worker Screening Card (Mandatory)
  • Valid First Aid Certificate required
  • Valid CPR Certificate required
  • National Police Check required or willingness to obtain before commencement of first shift
  • Remain entirely unbothered, calm, and professional in the face of shifting household dynamics
  • Ability to look for the why behind a refusal and pivot, adapt, and find a new way to gently engage participants
