Job summary

The Salvation Army Cairns Corps in Cairns, Australia, seeks a Street Chaplain Team Leader to oversee Cairns Street Chaplain services and collaborate with police, paramedics and local security partners. Reporting to the Corps Officer, this full-time role focuses on enhancing community safety through effective engagement and volunteer support.

Qualifications

• Experience in chaplaincy, pastoral care or community services, with the ability to respond to diverse community needs.
• Proven ability to lead, support and develop volunteer teams, providing pastoral care and fostering a positive team culture.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and administrative skills, with experience working across diverse cultures and stakeholder groups.
• A national police record check is required
• A Working with Children (Blue Card) is required
• A current and valid Driver’s Licence
• Willing to be flexible with work hours and days
• A personal Christian faith and alignment with the mission, values and ethos of CSC and TSA.

About The Role

As a Street Chaplain Team Leader, this is your opportunity to lead the day-to-day operation of Cairns Street Chaplain services, working alongside key community and emergency service stakeholders to help enhance safety across the Cairns Safe Night Precinct.

Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent full-time 38 position located at Cairns Corps.
