RGIT Australia is seeking an enthusiastic Café Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our bustling café and restaurant. You will lead by example, coach front-of-house staff, and ensure exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Working with Venue Manager and kitchen team, you will maintain service standards, handle cash and stock, and focus on safety and cleanliness while delivering outstanding guest service.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of supervisory experience in cafe/restaurant.
  • Experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day cafe and restaurant operations during shifts.
  • Lead front-of-house team to deliver outstanding service.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Coordinate service between front and back of house.
  • Involve in staff training, coaching and onboarding.
  • Assist Venue Manager with staff performance.
  • Monitor labour efficiency and report staffing needs.
  • Handle customer enquiries, complaints and feedback professionally.
  • Ensure food and beverage presentation meets standards.
  • Complete cash handling and till reconciliation.
  • Maintain stock levels and assist with inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the venue.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Café Supervisor to support the daily operations of our busy café and restaurant. This hands‑on leadership role is responsible for ensuring outstanding customer service, supporting the team throughout service, and maintaining high operational standards.

Working closely with the Venue Manager and kitchen team, you will lead by example, motivate staff and help deliver an exceptional dining experience in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the day‑to‑day operations of the café and restaurant during your shift.
  • Lead, motivate and support front‑of‑house team members to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Coordinate service to ensure efficient communication between front and back of house.
  • Assist with staff training, coaching and onboarding of new employees.
  • Support the Venue Manager with staff performance and day‑to‑day team management.
  • Monitor labour efficiency during service and report staffing requirements to the Venue Manager.
  • Handle customer enquiries, complaints and feedback professionally.
  • Ensure food and beverage presentation meets company standards.
  • Complete cash handling, till balancing and end‑of‑day reconciliation.
  • Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety and company policies.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation throughout the venue.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service and operational efficiency.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a café, restaurant or hospitality supervisory role.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to remain calm and organised during busy service periods.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
