Job summary

Taronga Western Plains Zoo is seeking an experienced Café Operations Coordinator to lead a dynamic food & beverage team across Café Wild and Waterhole Café, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and high service standards in a unique zoo setting.

You will coordinate day-to-day cafe operations, rostering, training and stock management, while ensuring compliance with safety and cash handling procedures and supporting sustainability goals across venues.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current NSW Driver's Licence (manual preferred)
• Must hold a current NSW Working with Children Check
• Must hold a NSW RSA certificate
• Senior First Aid certification is required or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the day-to-day operation of Taronga Western Plains Zoo's café venues (Café Wild, Waterhole Café, accommodation cafe) to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Lead café teams including rostering, onboarding, training and day-to-day activities to optimise labour deployment.
• Provide operational leadership across café operations and support supervisors, manage escalations and coordinate school group food collection requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety, WHS, cash handling, and operational procedures, and promote Taronga's sustainability goals.
• Oversee café administration, stock control, ordering, invoicing and use of operational systems for timely support.
• Adhere to Taronga’s Customer Service Charter and WHS standards and champion initiatives reducing environmental impact.
