Job summary

Taronga Zoo Dubbo is seeking experienced Food & Beverage Supervisors to support our Food, Beverage & Events team across Café Wild, Waterhole Cafe, Events, Zoofari and the Serengeti Resort.

You will oversee day-to-day FOH operations, maintain high standards of customer service, and lead a team across multiple departments to ensure seamless guest experiences. The role offers growth opportunities and is based on-site at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to deliver high standards of customer service
• Knowledge of safe work practices including manual handling and food safety
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate rosters in a fast-paced hospitality setting
• Strong interpersonal skills and positive guest engagement
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day customer service for front-of-house outlets at Taronga Western Plains Zoo
• Coordinate, train and supervise staff across shifts
• Perform food and beverage service duties per operating procedures
• Lead by example to provide exceptional guest experiences

• Part‑time positions available – 0.5 FTE TCSA Retails & Restaurant Employees Award, Duty Officer, annual base salary $57,537 + plus leave loading & penalties where applicable
• Casual positions available TCSA Retails & Restaurant Employees Award, Duty Officer, hourly rate $37.72 (includes hourly base rate $29.01 + plus leave loading & penalties where applicable)

is looking for experienced and motivated Food & Beverage Supervisors to join our Food, Beverage & Events team across multiple departments including Cafe Wild, Waterhole Cafe, Events, Zoofari and the new Serengeti Resort!

About The Role…

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the front of house Food & Beverage outlets at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, providing and maintaining high‑quality customer service standards.

Key Accountabilities…

• Deliver the day-to-day operational customer service components of TWPZ’s commercial operations.
• Assist in coordination, training and supervision of staff.
• Undertake food and beverage service duties in accordance with operational requirements
• Provide excellent customer service to visitors at all times and lead by example
• Manage the daily roster and staffing requirements during assigned shifts, including responding to staff absences, sick calls, and arranging appropriate coverage to maintain operational requirements.
• Comply with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter and suggest initiatives for further improvement to ensure industry leading standards are maintained.
• Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
• Comply and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga’s Work, Health and Safety Charter.

Key Knowledge And Experience

• Demonstrated commitment to delivering high standards of customer service in a customer‑focused environment.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, including manual handling principles and food safety practices.
• Ability to identify and respond appropriately to safety, hygiene, and presentation issues.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with a diverse range of guests, visitors and colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced hospitality environment

Essential Requirements

• Hold a current NSW Drivers License or ability to have existing license formally recognised
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification or the potential to obtain certification
• Current Senior First aid (or willingness to obtain) and ability to maintain this qualification (at own expense).
• Obtain and maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check (at own expense).
