Job summary

BMC Catering Pty Ltd operates a beachfront cafe at Dee Why Beach, offering fresh food, coffee, and a vibrant, beachside atmosphere. We are seeking reliable kitchen staff to prepare acai bowls, smoothies, salads, wraps, and juices, while maintaining a fast-paced service standard.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced cafe kitchen, juice bar, or deli is essential.
• Fast, neat knife skills with good plating/presentation.
• Proactive, team‑oriented with willingness to help across the floor when needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh food items to order (acai bowls, smoothies, salads, sandwiches, wraps, juices).
• Slice, chop and stock ingredients; maintain clean and organized prep areas.
• Greet customers, take orders at the till, and deliver food to tables.
• Assist with general kitchen duties and adhere to food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing fresh food to order, including acai bowls, smoothies, salads, toasted sandwiches, wraps, and fresh juices
• Slicing, chopping, and preparing ingredients (vegetables, proteins, garnishes, and house sauces) to keep the line stocked and clean
• Welcoming customers, taking orders accurately at the till, and running food to tables
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen prep areas, washing dishes, clearing tables, and adhering to strict food safety standards

About you

• Previous experience in a fast-paced cafe kitchen, juice bar, or deli handling food assembly and prep is essential
• Fast, neat knife skills and an eye for presentation (especially when building aesthetically pleasing acai bowls and fresh salads)
• A proactive, team-first attitude - happy to step away from the kitchen line to run food, clear tables, or take orders when needed
• Comfortable handling high-volume weekend rushes, working under pressure, and maintaining high food hygiene standards
• Must be available to work at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) plus flexible weekday shifts. 30 - 38 hours per week
