Job summary

Local Workforce Hire is hiring General Labourers and Casual Trade Assistants to support builders, landscapers and industrial clients across the region. Roles offer consistent shifts, immediate start and potential pathways to permanent employment.

Positions involve varied tasks across landscaping, construction and warehousing with daily travel allowance and superannuation. You must be reliable, physically capable and have a valid White Card and driver license where possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months' experience in general labouring or as a trade assistant.
• Construction White Card required.
• Current Driver Licence and reliable transport preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and maintain a solid work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist across commercial and residential landscaping, construction, warehouse fits, shopfitting and related sites.
• Prepare sites, mix, lift and move materials, wheelbarrow and trench where needed.
• Assist qualified tradespeople and perform general labouring duties as required.
• Maintain site cleanliness and safety in line with PPE requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

Every day is different, with opportunities to work across a variety of industries including:

• Commercial and residential landscaping
• Residential and commercial construction
• Warehouse fit-outs and pallet racking installations
• Shopfitting and carpentry projects
• Demolition and strip-out work
• General labouring across manufacturing and industrial sites
• Container unloading
• Site clean-ups and final cleans
• General manual handling duties

Typical tasks include:

• Site preparation and clean-up
• Wheelbarrowing materials
• Digging and trenching
• Lifting and carrying materials
• Packing and stacking
• Assembling products
• Assisting qualified tradespeople
• General labouring duties as required

What We're Looking For

To join our team you must have:

• Minimum 12 months' experience in general labouring or as a Trade Assistant
• Construction White Card
• A current Driver Licence and reliable transport (highly preferred)
• Ability to perform physically demanding work
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Reliability and punctuality

PPE Requirements

You must supply your own PPE, including:

• Steel-capped boots
• Hard hat
• Safety glasses
• Work gloves
• High-visibility clothing
