Job summary

State Trustees is seeking a Business Solutions Designer in Melbourne (Footscray) with a hybrid work arrangement. You will collaborate with stakeholders and technology teams to translate needs into practical technology solutions, leading design from requirements to implementation.

The role requires strong business analysis, solution design, and experience across the SDLC in Agile settings. You will engage across governance, delivery teams, and platform ecosystems to improve operations and client

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or equivalent capability with proven experience in business analysis and solution design.
• Ability to translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills for complex challenges.
• Experience across the system development life cycle and in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders to identify needs, options and solutions.
• Lead solution options and develop solution design artefacts.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, supportable and cost-effective solutions.
• Lead and coordinate the delivery of technology solutions and enhancements.
• Work with delivery teams through planning, testing, implementation and handover.
• Provide advice on system enhancements and improvements.
• Identify opportunities to simplify systems and improve processes.
• Support the implementation and adoption of technology changes.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, delivery teams and service providers.

About the Role

As a Business Solutions Designer at State Trustees, you'll collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams and technology specialists to understand needs and design practical, integrated solutions. You'll lead solution design from requirements gathering to implementation, balancing business needs, cost, risk and timelines to deliver technology solutions that improve operations and client outcomes.

Responsibilities

Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business Management or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Strong experience in business analysis, solution design or a similar technology role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience resolving complex challenges
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into practical technology solutions
• Understanding of solution architecture concepts, including integration patterns, data flows, APIs, cloud technologies and enterprise applications
• Experience facilitating workshops and engaging business and technical stakeholders
• Experience across the system development life cycle
• Experience working in Agile environments and coordinating delivery activities
• Understanding of system design, development, infrastructure and database concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in financial services, digital systems, business process re-engineering or process improvement will be highly regarded, as will experience with Salesforce, Oracle, Azure DevOps, JIRA or similar platforms.
