Job description

The organisation is a highly successful Australian corporate and asset management group operating across long-term, capital-intensive commercial portfolios. Managing end-to-end operational lifecycles, from high-stakes business development to multi-year service delivery, the business has experienced significant organic growth. To support ongoing enterprise expansion, the company is investing in operational excellence, process optimisation, and modern business capability. Built on a culture of trust, commercial accountability, and high performance, the team focuses on delivering quality long-term outcomes while modernising internal ways of working for future scale.

The Opportunity

Following a period of rapid growth, executive leadership is seeking a hands-on, commercially sharp professional to establish operational discipline and drive workflow transformation. Reporting directly to the Group Head of Strategy, you will step into a lean environment to audit existing ways of working, trim process friction, and establish standardised governance across key divisions. Once processes are streamlined and data sources are organised, you will layer practical AI tools, automated workflows, and business intelligence over daily operations. This role is ideal for a pragmatic problem-solver ready to convert unstructured ways of working into a scalable operation.

What You'll Do

  • Partnering with operational leaders to map end-to-end workflows across project delivery and asset operations, identifying bottlenecks and eliminating duplicated tasks.
  • Re-engineering and standardising core processes before applying technology, establishing clear governance guardrails for operational consistency.
  • Translating daily operational friction into practical AI, Copilot, and automation use cases that eliminate manual spreadsheet handling, reporting, and administrative drag.
  • Developing a structured data plan to convert unorganised files into clear, actionable business intelligence dashboards.
  • Building strong trust with senior stakeholders across key business units, running collaborative process mapping workshops, and constructively guiding teams through operational change with low ego and high resilience.
  • Managing end-to-end delivery of efficiency initiatives, including building commercial business cases, managing project budgets, and overseeing external vendors where required.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience mapping end-to-end workflows, trimming process waste, and redesigning operational tasks in a complex or fast-growing business.
  • Practical, hands-on familiarity with modern productivity tools (such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or basic workflow automation) and an understanding of how to apply them safely to daily work.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills to ensure every process improvement delivers clear, measurable business value.
  • High resilience, self-direction, and comfort operating in ambiguous environments where processes aren't yet documented or standardised.
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to constructively challenge senior stakeholders and guide teams through change.
