Job summary

Bank of Sydney is seeking a Business Analyst to analyze business processes, gather requirements, and recommend improvements across projects. You will collaborate with stakeholders to support initiatives, document requirements, and assist with system testing and implementation.

The role emphasizes mapping processes, extracting insights from data, and delivering clear BRDs and user stories while coordinating with cross-functional teams to drive adoption of new processes and systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a BA in banking or financial services.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with requirements documentation (user stories, BRDs).
• Proficiency with Jira, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Understanding of SDLC, Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

About The Role

In this role you will be responsible for analysing business processes and systems, identifying inefficiencies, gathering requirements, and recommending improvements. You will work with stakeholders across the organisation to support projects, improve processes, analyse data, document requirements, and assist with system implementation and testing.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Gathering requirements by conduct interviews, facilitates workshops independently, and research to capture business needs
• Map current‑state processes, identify inefficiencies, and design future‑state workflows
• Interpret data, identify trends, and provide insights that support decision‑making
• Collaborate with business leaders, SMEs, developers, testers, and project managers
• Create Business Requirements Document (BRD) user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and other project artefacts
• Assess proposed solutions, conduct gap analysis, and validate alignment with business objectives
• Assist with test planning, UAT coordination, defect triage, and validation of delivered features
• Support training, communication, and adoption activities for new processes or systems
