Job description

Business Analyst - Mergers & Acquisition integration
About the role:

We are seeking experienced Business Analysts to join a major acquisition and integration program within a leading financial services organisation.

The program is currently transitioning from due diligence into early mobilisation and execution, with an immediate focus on understanding the acquired organisation's existing processes, systems and operating environment, and defining the requirements for integration.

The Business Analysts will support one of three key workstreams:

  • People & Workplace: HR systems, workforce transition, people processes and workplace operations.
  • Finance & Corporate Systems: Finance, general ledger, payroll, HR systems, reporting and corporate application integration.
  • Network & Infrastructure: IT infrastructure, networks, service management, end-user technology and collaboration platforms.

Each Business Analyst will work closely with a dedicated Project Manager and collaborate across the broader integration program to identify cross-functional impacts and dependencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead discovery and requirements-gathering activities across business and technology stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops to understand current-state business processes, systems, operational activities and integration requirements.
  • Document current-state and target-state processes, systems and workflows.
  • Conduct gap analysis to identify differences between the acquiring and acquired organisations.
  • Assess the business, operational and technology impacts of proposed integration activities.
  • Identify interdependencies across systems, processes, data, people and technology.
  • Define and document functional and non-functional requirements to support integration planning.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to support scope definition, delivery planning, prioritisation and roadmap development.
  • Identify risks, constraints and process gaps that may impact Day 1 readiness or subsequent integration phases.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and business stakeholders to develop practical integration and transition requirements.
  • Support the preparation of business requirements documents, process maps, impact assessments and other project deliverables.
Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience working on mergers, acquisitions, divestments, business integration or separation programs
  • MUST have experience in non banking financial services
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst delivering complex business and technology transformation initiatives
  • Strong discovery, requirements elicitation, process mapping and documentation capabilities.
  • Experience performing current-state and future-state analysis, gap assessments and business impact analysis.
  • Ability to identify and document cross-functional dependencies across business processes and technology platforms.
  • Experience working across corporate systems, HR, finance, infrastructure or operational transformation projects.
  • Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments where requirements and scope are still being defined.
  • Financial services experience is highly regarded.
Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a hands-on, self-sufficient Business Analyst with strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand complex business and technology environments.

The successful candidate will be confident leading discovery activities, challenging assumptions and identifying gaps that may impact integration planning.

Previous exposure to acquisition integration, particularly across corporate systems, business operations or technology environments, will be particularly valuable.
