Job summary

Centorrino Technologies Pty Ltd. is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to uncover a legacy application’s operating model and dependencies from business and technical stakeholders.

The role focuses on elevating resilience, continuity and supportability through evidence-based options and clear documentation. You will map current-state processes, assess risks across technology and vendor ecosystems, and develop future-state roadmaps with validation from stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Senior Business Analysis experience across complex government or large enterprise environments.
• Proven experience analysing legacy, ageing, unsupported or poorly documented applications and their surrounding ecosystems.
• Strong requirements elicitation and stakeholder engagement skills across business, technical and operational teams.
• Demonstrated capability in process mapping, business rules analysis, data-flow analysis, interface mapping and dependency analysis.
• Experience reverse-engineering existing systems where formal requirements and technical documentation are incomplete or outdated.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured discovery of an existing legacy application, its business processes, technology environment and supporting operating model.
• Engage business and technical stakeholders to understand how the application is used, supported and integrated with the broader technology environment.
• Document application functionality, business rules, processes, data flows, interfaces, dependencies, controls and operational procedures.
• Reverse-engineer and validate undocumented or poorly documented functionality and integrations using available system, process and stakeholder evidence.
• Map current-state processes and information flows, identifying key dependencies, manual workarounds, control points and potential single points of failure.
• Assess operational, technology, vendor, security, continuity and support risks associated with the current environment.
• Develop practical and evidence-based risk treatments to improve operational resilience and reduce reliance on key-person knowledge.
• Assess business continuity, recovery and support arrangements and identify areas requiring improvement.
• Develop and evaluate future-state options, considering business needs, technical constraints, risk, maintainability and implementation considerations.
• Develop a prioritised roadmap and implementation-readiness material to support future investment and technology decisions.
• Establish traceability between stakeholder needs, current-state findings, risks, controls, options and recommendations.
• Facilitate stakeholder validation to ensure documentation and findings accurately reflect the operating environment.
• Develop practical, maintainable documentation and conduct structured knowledge transfer to relevant business and technical teams.
• Support a smooth handover that leaves stakeholders with greater understanding, ownership and capability beyond the engagement.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in establishing a clear, evidence-based understanding of a business-critical legacy application and its operating environment. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand how the application operates, identify critical risks and dependencies, and translate findings into practical options for improving resilience, supportability and continuity. This role will be a 6-9 month fixed-term contract based in Darwin.

What You’ll Bring

• The ability to understand and document complex integrations between applications, databases, spreadsheets, interfaces and downstream systems.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills, with a focus on producing clear, accurate and maintainable artefacts.
• Experience working with financial, enterprise resource planning, general ledger or comparable business-critical systems will be highly regarded.
• An understanding of governance requirements, including security, privacy, records management and procurement considerations.
• A collaborative and pragmatic approach to stakeholder engagement, validation and knowledge transfer.
• The ability to communicate complex technical and business information clearly to both technical specialists and business stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on evidence, traceability and quality assurance.
• The ability to work effectively across distributed stakeholder groups and support onsite engagement where required.
