Job summary

Cathara Consulting is seeking a Junior Technical Business Analyst to support a large-scale ICT transformation on-site in Darwin, NT. You will help gather requirements, document processes, and assist with data activities and testing alongside senior team members.

Ideal candidates are developing analysts with strong communication, meticulous documentation, and a can-do attitude. Exposure to Jira/Confluence or Azure DevOps is a plus, and relevant IT or BA qualifications are desirable.

Job description

Cathara Consulting are seeking a Junior Technical Business Analyst for a 12-month contract opportunity based on-site in Darwin, Northern Territory, supporting a large-scale digital transformation and systems implementation program.

The successful candidate will work alongside senior project team members, technical specialists, vendors and business stakeholders to support requirements gathering, process analysis, technical documentation, data activities and testing.

Key responsibilities

• Support workshops and stakeholder discussions, capturing business and technical requirements, decisions and actions.
• Assist with gathering and documenting business needs, data requirements, process flows and solution options.
• Develop requirements registers, process maps, data mapping notes, reporting requirements and supporting technical documentation.
• Support requirements relating to information management, reporting, data migration, system integration and configuration.
• Work with technical teams, vendors and stakeholders to clarify requirements, assumptions, dependencies and issues.
• Assist with analysis of source systems, reference data and system information to support data mapping and configuration.
• Support development, integration and testing activities, including documentation, issue investigation and test evidence.
• Work with testing teams to ensure documented requirements are reflected in test scenarios and outcomes.

About you

You will be an aspiring or developing Technical Business Analyst with strong analytical, communication and documentation skills and an interest in building your experience across complex ICT and digital transformation projects.

• Experience supporting requirements gathering, documentation, stakeholder engagement and action tracking.
• Exposure to ICT projects, systems implementations, system replacements or digital transformation environments.
• Basic understanding of data, reporting, system integrations, interfaces and configuration.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce clear and structured business and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to ask questions and clarify requirements.
• Ability to identify issues, document impacts and elevate risks or dependencies appropriately.
• Exposure to data analysis, data mapping, testing or integration concepts will be highly regarded.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams or similar collaboration tools is desirable.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, Business Analysis, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline are desirable.
