Job summary

Profectus is recruiting multiple experienced Business Analysts to support digital and service delivery projects for an Australian Government agency in Canberra. You will define and manage requirements, model processes using BPMN, map business rules, and engage stakeholders to deliver traceable artefacts across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst delivering ICT projects, ideally within an Australian Government agency.
• Proven record of accomplishment in the analysis and design of business outcomes with strong client engagement.
• Experience producing a range of BA artefacts including business, functional and non functional requirements documents, user stories, business and systems rules analysis and mapping, and BPMN models
• Experience establishing requirements baselines and maintaining traceability to source
• Experience in business situation analysis, business process improvement and feasibility assessment
• Strong stakeholder relationship management across business, technical and executive audiences
• Experience across delivery approaches from waterfall to iterative methods such as Scrum and Kanban
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with testers, developers and architects
• Experience mapping business rules to legislation or policy
• Experience contributing to business analysis practice standards, methods and tools
• Experience working to the SFIA framework

Responsibilities

• Define and manage scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity
• Contribute to selecting the requirements approach for each initiative
• Facilitate stakeholder input, provide constructive challenge and support effective prioritisation of requirements
• Establish requirements baselines, obtain formal agreement to requirements and maintain traceability to source
• Produce business analysis artefacts including business, functional and non functional requirements documents, user stories and business rules analysis
• Model business processes using BPMN and map business and systems rules
• Investigate business situations involving complexity and ambiguity and identify options for improvement
• Apply standard data modelling and design techniques based on documented requirements
• Articulate and measure business benefits across the life of an initiative
• Work with business, technical and management stakeholders to confirm scope and inform project planning
• Apply consistent templates, tools and methods and publish artefacts to the agreed collaboration and records management platforms

• Relevant industry certification such as BABOK v3.0, BA-Cube pathway certifications, business analysis foundations, business process modelling or BPMN training, or equivalent

• Experience building requirements traceability using tools such as Azure DevOps
• Experience providing specialist advice and consultancy services to business areas
• Experience mapping business rules to legislation or policy
• Experience contributing to business analysis practice standards, methods and tools
• Experience working to the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA)

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Must have a current AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance (minimum)
