Job summary

Vincents Chartered Accountants – Brisbane is seeking an Accountant with at least 12 months’ experience in a professional services environment. You’ll learn, take on new challenges and continue developing your career in Business Services & Tax Advisory alongside a supportive team.

Working with Managers, Associate Directors and Partners, you’ll prepare financial statements, tax returns and client documentation, while building strong client relationships and delivering quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months’ experience in accounting within a professional services environment.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Good communication skills and client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Assisting with tax compliance, including BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG and fringe benefits tax.
• Reviewing client information, maintaining accurate workpapers and preparing journal adjustments.
• Undertaking tax research and assisting with client queries.
• Building your understanding of client needs and contributing to a positive client experience.
• Managing your workload and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collaborating with colleagues across Business Services & Tax Advisory to deliver quality outcomes.
• Continuing to develop your technical knowledge through on-the-job learning, training and professional development.

What we're looking for

You’re someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems and building your accounting knowledge. You take pride in your work, are willing to ask questions and are motivated to keep learning.

You’ll ideally bring:

• At least 12 months’ experience in an accounting role within a professional services or similar environment
• A degree in Business or Commerce, majoring in Accounting
• An interest in commencing or progressing towards your CA or CPA qualification
• Foundational knowledge of Australian tax compliance and accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and organisational skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively within a team
• Clear communication skills and a client-focused approach
