Job summary

Vincents in Brisbane is seeking an Accountant with 12 months’ experience in a professional services environment to grow technically and build client relationships. You’ll deliver high-quality accounting and tax services while working with a supportive team.

You’ll be developing your CA/CPA qualifications and expanding knowledge across BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG and fringe benefits tax within Business Services & Tax Advisory.

Qualifications

• 12 months’ experience in an accounting role within a professional services environment.
• Degree in Business or Commerce with an accounting major.
• Interest in commencing or progressing towards CA or CPA qualification.
• Foundational knowledge of Australian tax compliance and accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Assist with tax compliance, including BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG and fringe benefits tax.
• Review client information, maintain accurate workpapers and prepare journal adjustments.
• Undertake tax research and assist with client queries.
• Build understanding of client needs and contribute to a positive client experience.
• Manage workload and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Business Services & Tax Advisory to deliver quality outcomes.
• Continue to develop technical knowledge through on-the-job learning, training and professional development.

What you'll be doing

Working alongside Managers, Associate Directors and Partners, you’ll contribute to delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to a diverse range of clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

What we're looking for

You’re someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems and building your accounting knowledge. You take pride in your work, are willing to ask questions and are motivated to keep learning.

You’ll ideally bring:

• At least 12 months’ experience in an accounting role within a professional services or similar environment
• A degree in Business or Commerce, majoring in Accounting
• An interest in commencing or progressing towards your CA or CPA qualification
• Foundational knowledge of Australian tax compliance and accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and organisational skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively within a team
• Clear communication skills and a client-focused approach
