Responsibilities

• Follow site traffic management rules, radio protocols and fatigue management requirements.
• Record trips, passenger numbers and vehicle defects or incidents.
• Support camp team between runs with housekeeping, grounds, stores and dining room support.

Far North Queensland | Remote Mining Camp | 2&1 Roster | $37.00 - 45.00 per hour + Super

We are an integrated facility services provider, delivering hospitality and support services to companies operating in remote and regional locations across Australia. We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated and demanding environments, including remote mine sites throughout Far North Queensland.

Due to significant growth across our Far North Queensland remote operations, we are looking for a reliable, safety-focused Bus Driver Utility to join our team. You will be joining us as we mobilise a newly established camp, currently home to approximately 80 residents, with growth planned to approximately 180 residents within the next few months.

You’ll be the first and last face our residents see each shift, getting them from camp to the mine site and home again safely, on time and in good spirits. Between runs, you’ll roll up your sleeves and support the wider camp team.

Working with a well-established mining company, the successful candidate will work a 2 weeks on / 1 week off roster. Onsite accommodation and meals are included.

The Position

Bus Driver Utility – 2&1 roster – $37.00 - $45.00 per hour + super

A typical day will see you:

• Safely transporting personnel between camp and the mine site in a 4x4 bus for daily shift changes, including early starts and late finishes
• Completing daily pre-start inspections and keeping the bus clean, presentable and roadworthy
• Driving to conditions on unsealed and mine site roads, including through the wet season
• Following site traffic management rules, radio protocols and fatigue management requirements
• Recording trips, passenger numbers and any vehicle defects or incidents
• Supporting the camp team between runs, including housekeeping, grounds, stores and dining room support as required

The Person

• Current Australian driver license – LR (Light Rigid) minimum; MR (Medium Rigid) or HR (Heavy Rigid) highly regarded
• Queensland Passenger Transport Driver Authorisation (essential)
• Previous bus or coach driving experience
• Confident 4WD driving on unsealed roads; mine site driving experience highly regarded
• Satisfactory traffic history
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
• A flexible, team-first attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever the camp needs you
• A genuine commitment to the safety of yourself, your passengers and everyone on site
