Job summary

Opal HealthCare is seeking a caring Bus Driver for Bella Vista Gardens Care Community in NSW. You will transport residents to appointments, outings and activities, assist with boarding and wheelchairs, and support wellbeing programs while representing Opal's values with a friendly, professional manner.

This part-time role emphasizes safe driving, resident engagement, and collaboration with residents, families and volunteers to enhance quality of life.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Current passenger bus licence (or equivalent) required in your state.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Previous bus or passenger transport driving experience preferred.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe driving record and zero BAC while on duty.
• Willingness to complete: Pre-employment medical, Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to appointments, community outings and lifestyle activities.
• Assist residents on and off the bus, including safe handling and securing of wheelchairs.
• Support lifestyle programs and outdoor activities that promote resident wellbeing and engagement.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers and the wider community.
• Conduct vehicle safety inspections and pre-start checks, reporting maintenance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with road rules, passenger safety requirements and infection control practices.
• Provide a friendly, professional and engaging experience that reflects Opal's values.

What You'll Need:

• A genuine passion for supporting older people and enhancing quality of life
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• A current passenger bus licence (or equivalent licence required in your state)
