DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Building Works Supervisor & Estimator to support delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade projects across a government property portfolio in Queensland.

The role combines estimating, contract administration, project supervision, tenancy inspections, and WHS leadership, with a focus on safety, quality and on-time, on-budget delivery for Government Employee Housing.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising construction, maintenance or building projects.

  • Sound knowledge of building industry practices, construction processes and contract management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality quotations, estimates and tender documentation in accordance with industry best practice, client requirements and departmental standards.
  • Supervise the delivery of construction, maintenance and refurbishment projects undertaken.
  • Coordinate and support office staff, field personnel and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Undertake property inspections, tenancy management activities and maintenance assessments on behalf of Government Employee Housing.
  • Monitor project quality, compliance and contractual obligations.
  • Promote and maintain a strong workplace health and safety culture across all projects and work sites.
  • Conduct WHS audits, inspections and plant and equipment checks.
  • Ensure appropriate risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) are in place for all works.
  • Work collaboratively with Regional WHS Advisors and WHS Manager to ensure compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to expand services and support business growth.

About the Role

Our government client is seeking an experienced Building Works Supervisor & Estimator to support the delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade projects across a diverse government property portfolio.

This challenging and rewarding role combines estimating, contract administration, project supervision, tenancy inspections, workplace health and safety leadership, and client relationship management. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while supporting the provision of Government Employee Housing services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare high-quality quotations, estimates and tender documentation in accordance with industry best practice, client requirements and departmental standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience supervising construction, maintenance or building projects.
  • Strong estimating, quotation and tender preparation skills.
  • Sound knowledge of building industry practices, construction processes and contract management.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Current Workplace Health and Safety General Safety Induction Card (White Card).
Highly Desirable
  • Trade qualification or other construction industry-related qualification.
  • Experience within government, social housing, facilities maintenance or building services environments.
  • Knowledge of Queensland construction, WHS and compliance requirements.
