Job summary

CRA Building Services is seeking an experienced Building Estimator/Supervisor to join our NSW team. The role involves assessing damage, preparing scopes and estimates, and overseeing repair works across Greater Sydney.

You will travel to residential sites, supervise trades, liaise with homeowners and insurers, and work closely with in-house coordinators to deliver timely outcomes while upholding high safety and quality standards.

• Experience in residential construction or building repairs is essential.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Building Estimator/ Supervisor to add to our NSW team, and manage insurance repair works across Greater Sydney. Whether you're an experienced Estimator/ Supervisor, or have solid construction/ trade experience and are ready to take the next step, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, primarily working from home and travelling to residential sites as required. You'll work closely with our office-based Quote and Repair Coordinators, subcontractors, homeowners and insurers to assess, estimate and oversee repair works from site inspection through to completion.

The Role

In this varied role, you will:

• Attend residential properties to assess damage and prepare detailed scopes and estimates for insurance repair works.
• Supervise building repairs and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Coordinate and provide direction to trades and subcontractors.
• Liaise professionally and empathetically with homeowners, insurance assessors and other stakeholders.
• Work closely with CRA's Quote and Repair Coordinators to keep jobs progressing within required timeframes.
• Manage job budgets, timelines and contractual KPIs.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure repairs meet relevant building standards and requirements.
• Provide WHS direction and ensure safe work practices are maintained on site.
• Assist with developing and maintaining a strong network of quality subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate job notes, reports, scopes and other documentation using CRA's digital systems and insurance portals.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Recent experience in residential construction, building repairs or a relevant trade (experience in the residential insurance repairs space would be an advantage).
• A trade qualification or equivalent relevant building experience.
• A current White Card and unrestricted driver's licence.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and the National Construction Code.
• The ability to scope, estimate and oversee residential repair works.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal confidently and empathetically with homeowners, insurers and trades.
• Strong time management skills and experience managing multiple jobs and competing priorities.
• Confidence using computer systems, web-based portals and digital job management platforms.
