Job summary

Allegra Recruitment is partnering with a Tier 1 affordable housing provider to recruit a Building Compliance and Contracts Officer to drive maintenance compliance for essential services and fire safety across a large Sydney housing portfolio.

You'll lead contract performance, oversee audits, manage compliance risks and work with contractors, consultants, and engineers to ensure safe, well-maintained dwellings for customers, reporting to the Compliance and Essential Services Manager.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in engineering, construction, building surveying, or related field, and/or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a comparable Compliance, Contracts, or Asset/Facilities Manager type role
• Knowledge of NCC/BCA compliance, risk management, and building codes and Australian Standards covering essential services is desirable.
• Understanding of Building and QA Inspections
• Demonstrated analytical skills and data management with proficiency in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance and planned maintenance programs for fire services, lifts, and hydraulic services
• Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and reviews for maintenance and small project works
• Manage contractor performance, KPIs, and service delivery
• Ensure statutory and fire safety obligations are met, AFSS
• Identify and mitigate compliance risks
• Maintain accurate compliance, asset and reporting records
• Drive continuous improvement and build relationships with contractors and consultants
• Oversee small projects, manage quotes and tender activities
