Job summary

BESIX Watpac is seeking a Building Cadet in Adelaide to join the Construction SA division on a part-time basis and progress through our Graduate and Early Career Development Program. This two-year program develops technical knowledge via on-the-job experience, Workshops, networking, and social events.

The role offers exposure to Project Delivery, Engineering, Design, Estimating and Safety, with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in tendering, cost planning, and on-site administration

Qualifications

• Currently studying a university-level degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and ability and willingness to learn new software packages as required.
• Proven high level of professionalism and work ethic.
• Proven track record and ongoing focus on timeliness, accuracy and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing cost plans and tenders by reviewing project requirements, compiling tender documentation, and coordinating proposed tender lists.
• Support quality assurance and safety management processes by monitoring compliance with project standards, documenting non-conformances, and assisting with the implementation of corrective actions.
• Contribute to estimating and project controls activities through quantity take-offs, cost analysis, subcontractor scope reviews, procurement support, and the preparation of tender submissions and budget forecasts.
• Assist with general site duties, office and administration as required.
