Job summary

New Era Technology, LLP, Brisbane-based Senior Engineer role focused on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing client IT environments. You’ll provide advanced technical support, troubleshoot complex infrastructure and network issues, and lead IT projects.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, collaborate with clients to translate business needs into technical solutions, and contribute to pre-sales activities while maintaining up-to-date documentation and proactive maintenance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, or a similar role.
• ITIL certification or experience working within ITIL-based service environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience in System Architecture Design.
• Extensive experience with Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP).
• Strong knowledge of Security Technologies, including Firewalls, VPNs, and Identity Management.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote and onsite technical support across client infrastructure, systems, and network environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, server, and network issues.
• Lead the implementation of infrastructure projects, upgrades, and system improvements.
• Act as an escalation point for technical issues and mentor junior engineers.
• Work closely with clients to understand business requirements and recommend suitable technology solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, solution designs, implementation plans, and project deliverables.
• Support solution design, architecture, and technical pre-sales activities, including proposals and tenders.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and issue resolution.
• Maintain system performance through monitoring, proactive maintenance, and process automation.
• Keep technical documentation accurate and up to date while continuously expanding technical expertise across supported technologies.
