M&M Bricklaying Pty Ltd is seeking a Bricklayer for a permanent, full-time role at 41 Piper Street, Fawkner, VIC. You will build durable structures using bricks, blocks and other masonry materials, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality in a long-term position.

The role requires reading plans, accurate laying, and the ability to work with the team to meet project deadlines. AQF Certificate III or higher and at least 1 year of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III or higher in bricklaying with at least 1 year of experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret construction specs.
• Proficiency in laying bricks, blocks, and stones to spec.

• Carry out tuckpointing to brickwork.
• Install aerated autoclaved concrete products.
• Use explosive power tools.
• Work safely at heights.
• Carry out concreting to simple forms.
• Place and fix reinforcement materials.

To be considered for this role, your key skills must include:

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, understand construction specifications, and use tools and equipment effectively.
• Proficiency in laying bricks, blocks, and stones accurately and efficiently to construct walls and other structures.
• Ability to work precisely to ensure that bricks are laid in a straight line and at the correct level.
• Strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and work on their feet for long periods.
• Good hand-eye coordination is essential for handling bricks and tools with precision.
• Basic math skills are needed for measuring and cutting materials and calculating angles and dimensions.
• Ability to identify and solve problems that may arise during the construction process.
• Work as part of a team to be able to collaborate effectively with other tradespeople.
• Understanding of safety regulations and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
• Ability to work efficiently to meet project deadlines and manage time effectively.
