Job summary

Mercure Sydney Blacktown is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Part Time Commis Chef to join our team of hospitality professionals. You will be working mainly the breakfast shift, preparing & serving food for the hotel buffet breakfast and food prep for our all-day dining menu and Distrikt Cafe.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality ingredients, while delivering high standards of food preparation, presentation and service.

Qualifications

• Preferably experience in buffet breakfast service/lunch service.
• Deliver consistent, high quality food while maintaining set food cost.
• Work with service teams to ensure quality product and service to guests.
• Great communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Willingness to learn and go above and beyond for guests.

Responsibilities

• Full ownership and operation of the kitchen including breakfast service whilst on shift.
• Ensure the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and quality.
• Preparing, cooking and serving breakfast for the hotel buffet.
• Preparing food for Distrikt Cafe and our all-day dining menu.
• Assisting with group dinners as required.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of ingredients.
• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and all dishes are washed at the end of each shift.
• Assisting the General Manager with food orders and stock management.
