Job summary

Meraki Early Learning Centre in Creswick is opening Napier Street ELC in January 2027 and seeks a Centre Director to lead a brand-new service with a growth mindset and a people-first approach.

You will shape the culture, build a strong team and establish a trusted, connected presence in the Creswick community, balancing on-the-floor leadership with administrative and compliance responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an early childhood leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of EYLF, NQF and National Quality Standard.
• Ability to mentor, inspire and develop a team.
• Passion for children, early education and inclusion.
• Strategic and creative thinker with calm, positive problem-solving.
• Comfortable balancing time on the floor with administrative duties.
• Able to work autonomously and seek support when needed.
• Excited to build Napier Street ELC from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support educators to deliver high-quality programs for children.
• Help build a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture from the start.
• Support educators to grow in confidence and practice.
• Ensure strong compliance while striving for Exceeding practice.
• Build meaningful relationships with children, families and the community.
• Support curriculum and continuous improvement with the Educational Leader.
• Be visible and connected with the team while planning and compliance work.
• Take ownership of day-to-day operations and contribute to growth.
