Job description

Two audiences, three brand launches, and a product catalogue that's about to get a lot more interesting. This is the job that turns brand strategy into what customers actually see.

About muk Haicare

muk Haircare is an Australian family-owned professional haircare brand, designed by industry professionals. With an international footprint and turnkey product portfolio, we are the trusted partner for professional salons and distributors. Our product portfolio - professional colour, care and styling tools - is sold in salons across Australia and in 15 countries, online, on Amazon and through selected distributors and retailers.

We sell through two distinct but connected channels - B2B, into salons and professional education, and B2C, through retail and direct-to-consumer. Every brand decision has to work across both, and the people who find that interesting rather than annoying tend to do well here.

The business is in its biggest growth phase yet, backed by the largest capital investment in muk's history and the appointment of a new CEO, CFO and CMO to drive a three-year strategy. A men's grooming range and a prestige range both arrive inside the next eighteen months, alongside new product across our core ranges. This role is how all of it reaches market.

Your Role

You will own the day-to-day execution of muk's brand and product marketing across DTC, B2B and digital. You take the strategy from the Head of Brand & Product and turn it into campaigns, content, launches and channel plans that work for two very different audiences - hairdressers who know this industry inside out, and consumers meeting muk for the first time. You will work alongside sales, education, ecommerce and our external agencies to keep all of it on brand, on time and commercially honest.

  • Plan and run go-to-market for every new launch across DTC and B2B - messaging, assets, timelines and channel rollout.
  • Own the product catalogue: range architecture, pricing, new launches and animations, working with Operations to keep supply and demand aligned.
  • Own the DTC digital experience - website content, ecommerce merchandising, email and SMS flows, and paid social alongside performance marketing.
  • Build the B2B marketing materials the sales team and our salon partners actually use - sell sheets, brochures, education collateral and trade communications.
  • Brief and manage our creative and digital agencies, and hold the output to the brand guidelines and the commercial goal.
  • Own the content calendar across owned channels, working with the social content and education teams
  • Manage the A&P budget and report on where it went and what it returned.
  • Measure campaign and channel performance, and change the plan when the numbers say to
  • Contribute to pricing, positioning and channel strategy - including how DTC and salon pricing sit alongside each other without undercutting the channel that built the brand.
  • Keep a close watch on competitor activity and category trends, and feed it back into brand and NPD planning.
  • Champion brand consistency across every touchpoint - packaging, campaign, social, retail and in-salon.

About You

  • 5 - 8 years in brand, product marketing or digital marketing, ideally in beauty, FMCG or another consumer category with real regulatory and channel complexity.
  • Genuine experience across both B2B and DTC - you understand that a stylist and a shopper need different messages, and you do not send one to both.
  • Strong digital fluency: ecommerce platforms, email and SMS marketing, paid social, and website content management.
  • Sharp, on-brand copywriting, and the editorial judgement to know what is worth saying and what is not
  • Confidence managing agencies and cross-functional stakeholders, and the organisation to run several launches at once.
  • A commercial mindset - you connect brand activity back to sales, margin, retention and channel health, not just engagement metrics.
  • Comfortable with pace and ambiguity. This is a hands-on role in a lean team, not a purely strategic one.

Nice to have

  • Professional haircare, salon distribution, or another dual-channel B2B/B2C business.
  • Exposure to international or multi-market brand rollout.
  • Working knowledge of Shopify, Klaviyo or similar ecommerce and CRM platforms.
  • You have done this inside a business growing faster than its own systems.

Why muk

Most brands in this category answer to a head office in another time zone, where the strategy is written and a decision takes a quarter. muk is Australian owned and run out of Melbourne. For a brand manager, that means the brand you are building is the whole brand, not a regional adaptation of someone else's deck - and the people who approve the work are people you can walk over to.

It also means the scope is real. You will own a catalogue, a budget and two channels, at a point where the business is launching more newproduct than it ever has. That is a lot of surface area for one person, and that is the honest pitch: if you want a narrow brief and a big team, this isn't it. If you want the range of work that usually takes three roles to get, it is.

What's on Offer

  • Attractive salary package
  • Ownership of the brand and product marketing agenda across all channels
  • A seat at the table on pricing, positioning and channel strategy
  • Access to free hair product (of course)
  • A friendly culture that genuinely backs each other
  • A brand built on real values: honest products, no compromise on quality, and real care for our people and our community
  • Proudly Australian owned, cruelty free and bold about both

muk Haircare is an equal opportunity employer.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences.

We are a serious business having a genuinely good time building an Australian brand into something a lot bigger. Come and put your name on the next chapter of it.
