Job summary

Neumann Steel is seeking an experienced operations supervisor to lead branch staff in Thornton, NSW, and ensure safe, efficient customer service across stock and logistics. The role focuses on overseeing stock, asset security, and relationships with customers and suppliers.

You will drive production planning, cost control, and performance coaching while aligning labour resources with operational requirements. A current driver’s licence is preferred and relevant HR experience will be valued.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a team to deliver customer service.
• Experience managing high stock volumes with strong stock control skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• High proficiency in budgeting, revenue forecasting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to branch staff to promote a safe and efficient work environment and deliver professional customer service.
• Ensure effective stock management, including receipt, regular stocktakes, and variance reporting.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Ensure security, maintenance, safe operation and presentation of all branch assets.
• Oversee production and logistics planning to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage rostering, time management, leave approvals and coaching as necessary.
• Manage workplace incidents, injuries, and illnesses with follow-up actions with the HSEQ team.
• Conduct team meetings, inductions and recruitment interviews to align labour with needs.
• Monitor monthly P&L and report variances against budgets.
• Coordinate with external transport providers to ensure compliance with procedures.
• Oversee incident management and collaboration with the HSEQ team for safe operations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements from concept to execution.
• Perform other duties as required.
