Job summary

Briones Group in Queensland is seeking Boilermakers, Mechanical Fitters and Riggers to join our site crews across the Bowen Basin. We offer long-term 7/7 rosters and ongoing shutdown, project, and float opportunities, with the option to mix workloads to suit individual preferences.

Looking for a solid 7/7 roster? Prefer chasing shutdowns? Or want the option to do both?

Briones Group has ongoing work across the Bowen Basin and we're looking for experienced Boilermakers, Mechanical Fitters and Riggers to join our growing site crews.

We have long-term 7/7 roster positions available now, as well as ongoing shutdown, project and float opportunities across multiple sites.

If you want a regular roster and consistent hours, we've got that. If you'd rather stay flexible and pick up shutdowns and project work, we want to hear from you too.

TWO WAYS TO WORK WITH US

1. LONG-TERM 7/7 ROSTER

Want the consistency of knowing your roster and having regular hours?

Our 7/7 positions offer:

Ongoing 7 days on / 7 days off

Consistent full-time equivalent hours

Bowen Basin site work

Accommodation and meals provided where applicable

Opportunity for additional shutdown and project work

Potential to transition into permanent full-time employment

7/7 personnel are initially engaged casually, with the opportunity to move into permanent full-time employment based on performance, reliability and ongoing site requirements.

We're looking for people who want to become part of an established crew — not just fill a gap for a few swings.

2. SHUTDOWN / FLOAT CREW

Don't want to lock yourself into a permanent roster?

No problem.

We're also building our shutdown and float crew for upcoming work across the Bowen Basin.

This could include:

Planned shutdowns

Maintenance campaigns

Leave and roster coverage

Short-term site requirements

Additional work between your existing commitments

If you're someone we can call when work comes up and know you'll turn up ready to go, we want you in our pool.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Depending on the role and site:

Current Standard 11

Current Coal Board Medical

Valid Driver's Licence

Working at Heights

Confined Space

Gas Test Atmospheres

Relevant trade qualification or High Risk Work Licence

Already inducted for Glencore, Anglo or BHP sites? Make sure you tell us — that's a big advantage.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Boilermakers

Relevant trade qualification with mining, CHPP, fixed plant or heavy maintenance experience. Experience with structural repairs, platework, chutes, guards, platforms and general maintenance is highly regarded.

Glencore Level 2 Weld Test is desirable but not essential.

Mechanical Fitters

Relevant trade qualification with fixed plant, CHPP or heavy maintenance experience, including planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and component changeouts.

Riggers / Dogmen

Current Dogging and/or Rigging High Risk Work Licence with mining, shutdown or heavy-industry experience. Experience with cranes, lifting equipment, lift plans, exclusion zones and permit systems.

Trade Assistants

Previous mining, shutdown or fixed plant experience. Working at Heights and relevant dogging or other High Risk Work Licences are highly regarded.
