Job summary

Chandler Macleod is seeking experienced Boilermakers/Welders for a casual assignment in Osborne, NSW. The role starts ASAP with potential for extension through December 2026, working on large, complex fabrication projects with a safety-first environment.

You will perform heavy fabrication and welding (ARC/MMAW, TIG/GTAW) and plasma/LPG cutting while reading structural drawings and maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Australian citizen.
• National Police Clearance (issued within the last 3 months).
• White Card and Confined Space ticket (refreshed within the last 2 years).
• Minimum 2 years’ heavy industrial fabrication experience (defence, mining, shipbuilding or construction).
• Strong understanding of welding processes (MMAW/GTAW + cutting processes).
• Own vehicle and current driver’s licence.

Job description

Chandler Macleod is seeking experienced Boilermakers/Welders for a casual assignment with a leading defence client based in Osborne. This is an ASAP start through to December 2026, with potential for extension. You’ll be working in a safety-first environment on large, complex fabrication projects where quality workmanship matters.

About the role

You will be completing heavy fabrication and welding including:

• ARC / MMAW and TIG / GTAW welding
• Plasma / LPG oxy cutting
• Reading and interpreting structural drawings
• Working to strict safety and quality standards

What you’ll need (essential)

• Australian citizen
• National Police Clearance (issued within the last 3 months)

• Platework / large complex structures experience
• Hepatitis A & B vaccinations

Security requirement

Successful applicants will be required to apply for the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Identification Card (NSSIC) following interview. Current NSSIC holders will be strongly regarded.
