Job summary

Workpac Group is seeking a Boilermaker for a major defence shipbuilding program in Adelaide, delivering MIG and Flux Core welding, fabrication and structural work on advanced naval vessels.

You will join a production team with on-site supervision, training, and a strong safety culture. Relocation assistance is provided, with options for day, afternoon or night shifts and clear career development within the defence industry.

Qualifications

• Australian-recognised Boilermaker/Fabrication trade qualification.
• White Card.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Ability to pass a Police Check.
• Australian Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Join the shipbuilding production team, completing MIG and Flux Core welding, fabrication and structural work on advanced naval vessels.
• Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Completing production tasks as directed by Production Supervisors and Trade Trainers.
• Participating in on-the-job training and development.
• Maintaining tools, equipment and materials to a high standard.
• Working collaboratively with other trades and production personnel.
• Contributing to continuous improvement across the work area.
• Following all site policies, procedures and safety requirements.

Relocate to Adelaide with $13,100 relocation assistance and secure a permanent Boilermaker role at Osborne Naval Shipyard, working on one of Australia’s largest Defence shipbuilding programs.

Our client is a leading global Defence, aerospace and security organisation delivering advanced naval capability at Osborne Naval Shipyard in South Australia.

What You Will Be Doing

Join the shipbuilding production team, completing MIG and Flux Core welding, fabrication and structural work on advanced naval vessels.

MIG and Flux Core welding and fabrication

Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings

Completing production tasks as directed by Production Supervisors and Trade Trainers

Participating in relevant on-the-job training and development

Maintaining tools, equipment and materials to a high standard

Working collaboratively with other trades and production personnel

Contributing to continuous improvement across the work area

Following all site policies, procedures and safety requirements

What You Will Need

Australian-recognised Boilermaker/Fabrication trade qualification

Experience with MIG and/or Flux Core welding

Ability to confidently read and interpret drawings

Strong commitment to workplace safety

Ability to work within a structured production environment
