We have a strong pipeline of work and are looking for quality tradespeople who want more than just the next shutdown.
FGCM is a locally owned and operated mining and industrial maintenance company based in Biloela.
Our crews work across major mining and industrial operations throughout Central Queensland, supported by our Biloela workshop.
Our work includes heavy mining equipment repairs and overhauls, dragline and excavator buckets, dump truck trays, CHPP and fixed plant maintenance, structural fabrication, shutdowns, breakdowns and project work.
This is a hands‑on Boilermaker position with plenty of variety.
Depending on the project, you could be working in our workshop on a major equipment overhaul one week and supporting one of our mine‑site crews the next.
Work may include:
Heavy fabrication, welding and repairs
Dragline and excavator bucket repairs and overhauls
Dump truck tray repairs, rebuilds and new builds
CHPP and fixed plant maintenance
Chutes, liners, wear plate and structural repairs
Crack repairs, gouging and welding
Structural steel fabrication and repairs
Platforms, stairs, handrails and access structures
Equipment strip‑downs, repairs and rebuilds
Planned maintenance and breakdown work
Shutdown and project work
Reading and working from engineering drawings
Completing work to specified dimensions, tolerances and QA requirements
We want Boilermakers who know their trade and take pride in the finished job.
You'll need:
Australian-recognised Boilermaker trade qualification
Heavy fabrication and welding experience
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Good fabrication, fit‑up and welding skills
Strong commitment to safety and quality
Reliable attendance and a solid work ethic
Ability to work effectively as part of a crew
Current Australian driver's licence
Mining, CHPP, fixed plant, shutdown or heavy equipment experience will be highly regarded.
Current Coal Board Medical, Standard 11, Working at Heights, Confined Space and mine‑site inductions are also highly regarded, but don't let an expired or missing site competency stop you from applying.
Consistent, ongoing work – not just short‑term shutdowns
Biloela workshop and Central Queensland mine‑site opportunities
A genuine variety of heavy fabrication and mining maintenance work
Planned maintenance, shutdown, breakdown and project opportunities
Meals and accommodation for eligible non‑local site work
Opportunities to work across multiple client sites
Training and development
Opportunities to progress into Leading Hand and Supervisor positions
An experienced, practical team
A growing locally owned Central Queensland business
We are building FGCM for the long term and want good tradespeople to build their careers with us.
We value people who turn up, work safely, take pride in their trade and back the crew around them.
If you're an experienced Boilermaker looking for ongoing work, variety and the opportunity to work across both workshop and mine‑site projects, we'd like to hear from you.
