Job summary

FMS Group is looking for experienced and safety-focused Boilermakers to join shutdown crews in the Bowen Basin, QLD. This casual position offers ongoing opportunities with various rosters available. Responsibilities include maintenance and project works across mine sites and ensuring a strong safety culture.

The ideal candidate will have a trade qualification in Engineering Fabrication or Boilermaking/Welding, significant industry experience, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated shutdown and/or mining industry experience.
• Ability to pass pre-employment medicals and ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
• Current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 certification.

About The Role

FMS Group is seeking experienced and safety-focused Boilermakers to join our shutdown crews across various mine sites in the Bowen Basin, QLD. This is a casual position offering ongoing shutdown opportunities with multiple roster options available to meet operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out shutdown maintenance and project works across various mine sites throughout the Bowen Basin.
• Work across various roster schedules to meet operational requirements.
• Perform fabrication, welding, repairs, and maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
• Work within high-performing maintenance teams in a fast-paced mining environment.
• Contribute to a strong safety culture and ensure all work is completed to a high standard.
• Previous experience in Fixed Plant, Shovel, and Dragline shutdown maintenance highly regarded.
• Immediate starts and ongoing shutdown opportunities available for suitable candidates.

What You’ll Bring

• Trade qualification in Engineering Fabrication or Boilermaking/Welding.
• Demonstrated shutdown and/or mining industry experience.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
• Ability to pass pre-employment medicals and ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
• Current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 certification.
• Current Working at Heights, Confined Space, and Gas Test Atmosphere tickets.
• Current weld test certification or willingness to complete a weld test.
