Job summary

Contitech Australia is seeking skilled Boilermaker/Fabricators to join the Paget team in Mackay. This role offers a mix of light to heavy fabrication, component repairs and complex assemblies across mining, ports and other industries, with a 50/50 split between site-based maintenance and workshop fabrication.

You will work on projects locally, interstate and overseas, handling MIG/Flux Core welding and reading engineering drawings, with safety and workmanship as top priorities.

Qualifications

• Current driver’s licence — HR highly regarded
• High-risk tickets such as forklift, dogging or rigging — advantageous
• Standard 11 & Coal Board Medical
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
• Ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team
• A strong safety and quality mindset
• Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Great communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Light to heavy steel fabrication
• Fabrication involving stainless steel and complex assemblies
• MIG / Flux Core welding — TIG and Stick experience advantageous
• Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings
• Component assembly and welding
• Operating overhead cranes, forklifts and workshop equipment
• Site-based maintenance of conveyor systems
• Delivering consistently high standards of safety, quality and workmanship
