Job summary

FLSmidth in Australia is seeking a qualified Boilermaker to support both workshop and field service activities across the mining sector. You will service, repair and maintain fixed plant equipment to OEM standards, while delivering safe, reliable solutions for customers.

The role requires hands-on fault finding, inspections, commissioning support and clear service reporting. You’ll work with customers, contractors and team members to uphold quality workmanship and safety, with opportunities for

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications and relevant field service experience are essential.
• Demonstrated ability to service and repair fixed plant equipment in mining environments.
• Experience with wash plant equipment is highly regarded.
• Strong technical capability in maintenance, fault finding and repair work.
• Safety-first mindset with a proven commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Strong organisation, initiative and problem-solving, with the ability to work independently or in a team.

The Opportunity

As a Boilermaker, you'll play an important role in supporting our workshop operations and customers across the mining industry. From equipment repairs and preventative maintenance to on-site technical support, you'll be helping ensure our equipment performs safely, reliably and efficiently.

• Equipment Maintenance & Repairs: Service, maintain and repair FLS equipment to high-quality OEM standards.
• Workshop & Field Support: Undertake repairs, servicing and maintenance in the workshop and at customer sites.
• Inspections & Fault Identification: Conduct routine equipment inspections, identify defects and recommend practical repair solutions.
• Breakdown Support: Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist in restoring equipment availability while minimising downtime.
• Commissioning & Technical Support: Assist customers with equipment commissioning, servicing and ongoing maintenance requirements.
• Customer Reporting: Prepare clear photographic reports, document findings and provide recommendations to customers.
• Quality & Safety: Deliver work safely, efficiently and in accordance with established procedures and technical standards.

• Trade Qualification: Recognised Boilermaker trade qualification.
• Industry Experience: Previous field service experience, ideally working with fixed plant equipment in mining or mineral processing.
• Wash Plant Knowledge: Experience with wash plant equipment will be highly regarded.
• Technical Capability: Strong skills in equipment maintenance, repairs and fault identification.
• Safety-First Mindset: A demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, compliance and quality workmanship.
• Communication Skills: Confidence communicating with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Organisation & Initiative: Strong time management, planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Computer Literacy: Ability to use digital systems to complete service reports, documentation and work records.
