Job summary

SRG Global Mining Services is seeking skilled Blast Crew members to join our long-term projects in Townsville, QLD. You will work with a professional team, focusing on safe, precise drill and blast operations on tier-one mine sites.

Electrical systems and explosives handling are part of daily tasks, with modern equipment and strong safety culture. Candidates should have open pit blast crew experience, a C Class Manual Driver's Licence, and be able to pass a pre-employment medical and

Qualifications

• Experience in open pit blast crew operations.
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen.
• C Class Manual Driver's Licence is required.
• QESC or willingness to obtain QESC.

Responsibilities

• Support drill & blast operations to meet production targets safely.
• Conduct blast hole QA checks and inspections.
• Set up exclusion zones and signage for safe blasting.
• Load blast holes with explosives and stemming material.
• Assist the Shotfirer with charging and tie-in activities.
• Perform pre- and post-blast inspections.
• Follow site safety protocols and operate/maintain equipment.

SRG Global Mining Services is looking for skilled Blast Crew members to join our long-term projects. What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting drill & blast operations to meet production targets safely
• Conducting blast hole QA checks and inspections
• Setting up exclusion zones and signage for safe blasting
• Loading blast holes with explosives and stemming material
• Assisting the Shotfirer with charging and tie-in activities
• Performing pre- and post-blast inspections
• Following all site-specific and statutory safety protocols
• Operating machinery and maintaining equipment in safe condition

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous open pit blast crew experience
• C Class Manual Driver's Licence
• QESC or willing to obtain
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen
• Experience with electronic or Nonel initiating systems
