Job summary

Bathurst Regional Council in Bathurst is seeking a Bitumen Maintenance Ganger to perform patching duties on rural roads and support road construction and maintenance activities. You will operate minor plant, supervise staff, and ensure adherence to safety and procedures in a regional setting.

Qualifications

Possess a current NSW Class HR Driver's Licence as a minimum.
Possess a General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
Possess Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training Card
Sound knowledge and experience in the handling of bitumen products and bitumen maintenance practices and procedures.
Sound experience and knowledge in the supervision, coordination, and management of staff.
Adequate numeracy and literacy skills to fulfil the requirements of the position.
Experience in completing standard forms.

Responsibilities

Undertake bitumen patching duties on Council roads in the Bathurst region.
Operate minor plant associated with road construction and maintenance, particularly bitumen related activities.
Supervise, coordinate and manage staff on site.
Ensure compliance with safety, health and environment requirements and procedures.
