Job summary

Wannon Water in Warrnambool seeks a Biodiversity Officer to protect and enhance the natural environment across the region. You will develop and deliver biodiversity and environmental management programs, including land and fire management and monitoring activities.

Collaborate with Traditional Owner groups, agencies and communities, providing specialist advice on biodiversity, regulatory requirements and environmental approvals, and support managers through training and guidance.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Farm or Natural Resource Management or related disciplines.
  • Interest in environmental water, wetlands, waterways and natural resource management with working knowledge of biodiversity issues.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and time management.
  • Commitment to safety, accountability and high-quality environmental outcomes.

Responsibilities

Who we are looking for

We're looking for a passionate environmental professional to help protect and enhance the natural environment across our region. As our Biodiversity Officer, you'll use your expertise, practical approach and strong collaboration skills to help care for the lands and waterways that support our communities.

This is an ongoing full-time position based in Warrnambool with a generous salary of $94,275 to $102,499 p.a. plus superannuation.

Job Description

What you'll be doing

On a day-to-day basis, you'll:

  • Develop and deliver ourbiodiversity and environmental management programs, including land management, fire management and environmental monitoring activities.

We’re looking for someone with
