Job summary

City of Boroondara seeks a Biodiversity Officer for a 12-month parental leave backfill in the Urban Biodiversity and Revegetation team. You will deliver biodiversity initiatives, engage residents and coordinate events to celebrate local natural habitats.

The role requires passion for biodiversity, strong stakeholder relationships and the ability to manage multiple priorities while reporting to the Coordinator Urban Biodiversity and Revegetation. Commencement before Christmas 2026 is expected.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Sustainability or related field.
• Experience delivering biodiversity projects or community engagement initiatives.
• Ability to communicate with diverse community groups and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver biodiversity projects and initiatives aligned with Council objectives.
• Coordinate workshops, citizen science activities and community events.
