Job summary

City of Boroondara in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs is seeking a Biodiversity Officer for a 12-month fixed-term parental leave backfill at Kew. You will deliver biodiversity projects, engage the community and support Council’s biodiversity objectives.

You will hold a degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Sustainability or Conservation Management, or equivalent experience, and you will coordinate workshops, citizen science activities, and events while building partnerships with

Qualifications

Qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Conservation Management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience in environmental sustainability, biodiversity or community engagement.
Experience delivering projects, events or programs with strong organisational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from volunteers to external agencies.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver biodiversity projects and initiatives that support Council's biodiversity objectives and action plans.
Develop innovative programs and activities that encourage community participation and understanding of local biodiversity.
Coordinate and deliver workshops, citizen science activities and community events.
