Job summary

Lug+Carrie is hiring a bike mechanic to split time between our Fitzroy workshop and the road around Melbourne. You’ll diagnose, repair and service premium eBikes, and deliver bikes in the company van to subscribers.

About you: 1–2+ years as a bike mechanic, E-bike experience a bonus, a valid Australian driver’s licence, and comfort with customer-facing work and computer-based job tracking. Weekend availability required.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years as a bike mechanic; eBike experience helpful and training offered.
• Confident working solo on the road and in a team.
• Good with customers and comfortable with computer-based job tracking.
• Organised and reliable with time.

Responsibilities

• In the workshop ~3 days a week: diagnose, repair, build and refurbish eBikes to premium standard.
• On the road ~2 days a week: service subscribers’ eBikes at homes/workplaces around Melbourne.
• Deliver new bikes and hand over setup, fit and riding guidance.
• Represent Lug+Carrie as the friendly face for customers.

Not stuck behind the bench: premium eBikes, in the workshop and on the road

At Lug+Carrie you’ll split your week between our Fitzroy workshop and the road. You’ll service and deliver eBikes to our subscribers around Melbourne in the company van. You’ll work on premium Tern and Riese & Müller eBikes with Bosch drive systems, with no sales targets, just good work and happy riders.

What you’ll do

• Diagnose, repair, build and refurbish eBikes to a premium standard

• Deliver new bikes and hand them over properly: set-up, fit and a run-through of how to ride and look after them
• Represent Lug+Carrie as the friendly face our customers see

About you

• 1–2+ years as a bike mechanic. eBike experience is a bonus or we’ll train you!
• Confident working on your own on the road, as well as in a team
• Great with customers and comfortable with computer-based job tracking
• Organised and reliable with your time
• Current full Australian driver’s licence (essential), and comfortable driving a van around Melbourne
• Available for a rotating roster including Saturdays
