Job summary

atWork Australia is seeking a Data & BI Analyst to support expanding reporting and analytics needs. You will help migrate data assets to Databricks, design robust data models, and develop Power BI dashboards that inform business decisions.

Collaborating with stakeholders, you will optimise SQL queries, build DAX measures, and contribute to governance and continuous improvement across reporting and data management in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with Databricks in a reporting or analytics environment.
• Strong Power BI development experience, including dashboards, data models and DAX.
• Solid SQL skills with experience in SQL Server environments.
• Experience designing and optimising data models for reporting and analytics.
• Strong understanding of BI best practices, data governance and reporting standards.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the migration of reporting and data assets from SQL Server to Databricks.
• Design and implement robust data models that align with BI best practices.
• Develop, maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Refactor existing reports to improve usability, performance and governance.
• Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, transform and validate data.
• Build DAX measures and semantic models that support business decision‑making.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across reporting, analytics and data management functions.
• Work to KPIs and performance targets in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven environment.
